We stayed at the Hotel Astoria Playa in Palma de Mallorca. A beautiful modern hotel with just a few minutes’ walk to the beach and with blue skies all round, it was perfect escape for a mid-April break.

We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Breakfast was what I looked forward to the most. A continental buffet with a Spanish twist with locally sourced ingredients. Hash browns, Sausages, bacon, freshly baked bread were a few of the things I enjoyed. Not to talk of the freshly made crepes, cakes and croissants. I did occasionally indulge in the healthy section of fruit salad and granola but when I’m on holiday I tend stick to the savory side of breakfast.

I went with my sister Shirley – we had a mini photo session (as you do with great weather) before we headed into town to explore the beautiful parts of the island.

We met up with the lovely Becca (@BeccaRose)  and Gregg for a day at the beach.  We had ice cream, cheese and tomato pizza and golden crispy chips -a quick ‘snack’ before we headed back to the hotel for dinner.

*PS had the best mini chocolate cheesecakse for dessert.

Travel essentials

I have a few travel essentials that I take with me wherever I go, They can be an integral part of the trip peep the list below:

 A pair of sunglasses (maybe 2) H&M

A fragrance – To associate with a certain place and to remind me of my travels and places I’ve visited. I wore Daisy by Marc Jacobs – a delicate, floral scent with sweet notes, perfect for any holiday.

Hand cream – I have dry hands so it’s essential for me to use creams that deeply penetrate the skin. This rituals hand cream is the perfect moisturiser as it moisturises well and doesn’t leave your hands feeling greasy. A great alternative to is Norwegian hand cream.

Book – Perfect for lounging in the sun or times when you want to relax and indulge in another way. If you’ve had a longing to read a particular book this is the time.

Ghd Hair Straighteners – I take these with me everywhere! It’s perfect for keeping my hair intact especially in warm/humid climates which can cause my hair to get frizzy. With these ghd straighteners my hair literally stays intact.

*Ps Are you or have you been anywhere lately? If not where would you like to go?

  1. I saw the vlog on Shirley’s page and you two are a hoot!!! I laughed and smiled the whole time.

My family and I just got back from Alabama over the weekend, and next week we’re heading your way! One week in England and four days in Scotland – pretty excited as it’s been 4.5 years since I last visited England.
